Welcome to the Goat Consulting Knowledge Center!

Goat Consulting has a culture of continuous learning improvement, and we feel that sharing this general information for selling on Amazon will help our clients and future clients better understand the areas for selling on Amazon. We often look at the Amazon leadership principles as guiding principles for how we act. One of those principles is “Learn and Be Curious - Leaders are never done learning and always seek to improve themselves. They are curious about new possibilities and act to explore them.” This is an area where we at Goat Consulting can continue to learn and be curious, but also share and teach in the process.

Amazon Advertising

Amazon Advertising includes information about the suite of tools that Amazon offers to help you achieve your selling goals and reach new customers. This area covers brand awareness, increasing sales, and growing your business on Amazon by targeting your customers at each stage of the shopping cycle - awareness, consideration, purchase, advocacy, and loyalty.

Amazon Merchandising

The Amazon Merchandising section covers how customers interact with your brand and product listings on the Amazon store. We cover the customer shopping journey from the Amazon search bar, to search results page, to the product listing page. We touch on all of the merchandising tools you have available as a seller including the product details, image & video media options, product variations, and pricing & promotions. For brand registered sellers, we discuss the brand eligible content including enhanced brand content and storefront options.

Amazon Policies & Compliance

The Amazon Compliance section highlights some of the important policy and compliance components for selling on Amazon. As a seller, it is your responsibility to read, understand, and follow applicable laws and Amazon program policies including your Amazon services business solutions agreement. Our goal with this section is to share general information, call out some high-level information, and share resources to Amazon’s policies around general selling activities, category & product listing, and account health.

Amazon Product Identification

Correctly listing your product using appropriate Amazon Product IDs helps create an Amazon marketplace that properly attributes your brand, creates a single product listing experience for Amazon customers, and makes inventory management easier. This section shares general information about Amazon Product IDs including SKU, ASIN, UPC, GTIN; best practices for listing products, and actions for fixing issues with incorrectly listed products.

Amazon Brand Registry

Amazon Brand Registry is the tool to help you manage your intellectual property while selling on Amazon. Once you have enrolled your brand in Brand Registry, you get access to a suite of tools offered by Amazon to protect your brand, merchandising, and advertising tools to help grow your business, and reporting and analytic tools to help you understand how Amazon customers interact with your brand.

Amazon Shipping and Fulfillment

This page outlines the logistics side of selling on Amazon of shipping and fulfilling customer orders. We walk through the Amazon FBA (fulfillment by Amazon) service where Amazon warehouses, picks, packs, and fulfills orders. We also touch on topics around Amazon Merchant Fulfilled shipping of fulfilling your own orders.

Amazon Reporting

Amazon offers a wide variety of reporting and data metrics. In this knowledge center section, we cover the available metrics on sales, brand, advertising, inventory, and fulfillment. With all that data, it is more important to find out the performance metrics that are most impactful for you and your business in order to make informed decisions on how to take action to achieve your goals.
