Goat Consulting is an Amazon consulting agency based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We help brands and manufacturers sell on Amazon through hands-on account management, advertising, compliance support, and operational strategy. How Goat Consulting Started
Reed Thompson and Will Tjernlund founded Goat Consulting in 2016. The idea behind the company was straightforward: brands and manufacturers needed help selling on Amazon, and they needed it from people who had actually done it, not from generalist digital marketing agencies learning on the job.
Will built his family's 80-year-old manufacturing company into a multi-million dollar Amazon business from scratch, turning Amazon into their number one sales channel. He learned every part of the process firsthand, from product listings and FBA operations to advertising and international expansion. That seller-level experience is what he brings to every client engagement. Reed came from Target Corporation, where he spent years in retail operations managing large teams and learning how merchandising, logistics, and customer experience work at scale. That background in how retail operations actually function at a high level and an entrepreneurial background is what shapes the way Goat Consulting approaches Amazon strategy for clients today.
Together, they started Goat Consulting to bring that kind of practitioner-level Amazon knowledge to other brands. The company has grown since 2016, and has been recognized as one of the fastest growing private companies in the Twin Cities by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.
